Dear lewis226,
It is a well known fact among designers that dining rooms are to be painted a red color, for subtlely bringing out the flavors of food, happy feelings and the desire to stay and enjoy. If you are a red person, but not a color person, don't be scared, as there is so much one can do with red to minimize the boldness of the color is that is a fear. Try Benjamin Moore Confederate Red 2080-20 or if that is just too red, go a little darker with Benjamin Moore Classic Burgundy-EXT RM or Bricktone Red at 2005-20. The nicest thing to do is to paint it these beautiful bright colors and then accent the walls with such things as black and white photos or prints. And paint the spindles and the stair case railing all black. If you can, change the table that is silver or metal, by changing or painting it black, and put a lampshade and artwork on the table that is a unique green. Try Guilford Green which is Benjamin Moore HC-116. I don't want to add too many colors, but feel freee to email back and give me more questions and try out colors. |
